Background
For 24 years I’ve produced creative work for advertising agencies, interactive studios, and software developers alike – to the extent that some have described my job as a sort of über-consultant. Having had my fingers deep in the stickiness of brand design, integrated marketing and interactive design, I bring a unique perspective along with an abundance of design savvy to each and every project.
A graphic designer by education, I received my degree in Graphic Design with an emphasis in Illustration from Iowa State University in 1988 and began my career developing corporate identities and related marketing materials.
A stint at one of the country’s leading high-tech ad agencies lead to my discovery of interactive design in 1995. As a founding member of DSW Interactive, I art directed the earliest websites for the likes of Intel, Iomega, Gateway, Conservation International, Netscape and others.
In 1997, two partners and I launched Sumus Interactive, an agency specializing in interactive marketing. As Creative Director, I steered digital development for brands such as Nortel Networks, Iomega - Europe, Visto, Campus Pipeline and Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
In 2001 I founded Designtelic to return to my design roots. Today, I continue my pursuits through Designtelic, providing balanced work for clients like CrimeReports.com, HireVue, Giovanni Experiences, Sendside Networks and Spillman Technologies.
